Supplier Master Data Management
What Is Supplier Master Data Management?
Supplier master data management, often shortened to supplier MDM, is the practice of keeping supplier records accurate, complete and consistent across every system that uses them. Supplier master data includes core details such as legal name, tax and registration numbers, addresses, bank details, payment terms and categories, and it is also called vendor master data.
In an enterprise environment, the ERP usually holds the supplier master record that purchase orders and payments depend on. When records are created or changed outside a governed process, duplicates, outdated bank details and inconsistent categories build up, which creates payment errors and weakens spend reporting.
How Supplier Master Data Management Works
How SAFAL Supports Supplier Master Data Management
SAFAL's supplier information management capability holds supplier details and documents in one structured record, with supplier master data synchronized between SAFAL and SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics and Navision. Because supplier onboarding, sourcing, purchasing and invoicing all use the same supplier record, teams are not maintaining separate copies in different tools. This is particularly valuable for multi-entity enterprises with large supplier networks, such as those in EPC, oil and gas, chemicals and manufacturing, where supplier data is created and used across many sites.
