E-Invoicing
What Is E-Invoicing?
E-invoicing, or electronic invoicing, is the exchange of invoices between a supplier and a buyer in a structured digital format that systems can read and process automatically. It is different from emailing a PDF or scanning a paper invoice, because the invoice data arrives in fields that can be matched, approved and posted without manual re-keying.
In an enterprise environment, e-invoicing connects the supplier's invoice to the purchase order and goods receipt already held in the ERP. In some countries, tax authorities also mandate specific e-invoicing formats or reporting, and the requirements differ from one country to another.
How E-Invoicing Works
How SAFAL Supports E-Invoicing
SAFAL's e-invoicing capability lets suppliers submit invoices digitally and connects them to purchase orders, goods receipts and service entries for 2-way and 3-way matching, integrated natively with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics and Navision. Matched invoices flow into approval and posting without manual re-entry, while exceptions are routed for resolution. This is particularly useful for multi-entity enterprises with high invoice volumes, such as those in EPC, oil and gas, chemicals and manufacturing, where accounts payable teams handle invoices across many suppliers and sites.
